The OMB decision
for the hearing on May 4, 2010, at which The Hon. Dennis Timbrell made a
presentation supported by Don Mills Friends, is still outstanding, and
we have been informed that it may take from two to eight weeks for the
decision to be published. We will keep you informed as to any new
developments.

DMRI membership decreases As some of you may be aware, the DMRI held its AGM on May 6, 2010, at which the following information related to membership was announced, as reported by one of our supporters who attended the meeting (and confirmed by another): "Memberships were spoken as 692, which is down from 1000, which was down 130 from the previous year(1130). Barb Henderson [membership secretary] said some members had just signed up tonight, so that would put the number higher - maybe 725. According to their own numbers, a 25% drop." This is of interest for several reasons, but especially because the DMRI president, Terry West, had stated under oath at the OMB hearing two days earlier that his association had more than 1,100, and nearly 1,200 members, and was probably the largest residents' association in the city. |
